How to rapair a file that Avira AntiVir Rescue System made into a .vir

I was running Avira free antivirus and said to stop and do an Avira AntiVir Rescue System scan. While doing the scan it made some of of my files that are not a virus into one and quarantine it. So instead of a regular file like vic2-ace1121.exe it made it into an vic2-ace1121.exe.vir is their any way to revert the file back to the original? I have a dozen of this kind of file I want to revert back. Considering some of them are old files I can not re-download some of them.

Hi alemar,

You can search for all .XXX extensions and delete them manually (not the files, but the extensions).
