The Ariva Web Guard Is Slowing Down The Internet

I have a slow computer. I have windows xp sp3. i've been using ariva 2012 because it is very light on resources. In fact im very happy with what little resources ariva 2012 uses even when it's scanning. I never had a problem until my web browsers were slowing down so much in the last two days that today i tried something. Again my computer is very slow but anyway I turned off the ariva web guard just to see. Turning it off made a difference to where now i don't know what to do. It's enough to where I want to shut the guard off but I can't run without a web guard. I saw a ariva page with ariva 10 where it was showing how to fix the web guards slowing down the the internet by using exceptions. I couldn't follow it plus this isn't version 10. Yes i have a hijack log and no i'm not infected but i will paste it in anyway. Ideas? If it was a small difference i would not have posted. Ideas? The resource usage is fine? Stumped

That's a good entry?. And I use zero protection. It's just sits there. I don't think i understand the post. I can't delete it from the hijack log without problems?

SuperAntiSpyware is also a program with similar features like AntiVir. Such a combination can cause troubles, also such troubles which you had described.
SuperAntiSpyware is also not necessary, Avir has the same features like this program. So you can deinstall in the Software-Menu of windows SuperAntiSpyware.

What do you mean with "Zero Protection"?

Side-effects with the software "Super Antispyware"

If you use the software "Super Antispyware" and install Avira Web Protection, you may have problems with your Internet access.
The access to Internet websites is slowed down considerably, due to the combination of the two modules, and it can even lead to blocking.
Thus we recommend uninstalling this software and having trust in Avira´s Adware and Spyware detection, so that your Internet traffic and Web Protection would work normally.

select the items you would like to remove by placing checkmarks in the checkboxes next to each listing as shown in Figure 6.
Once you have selected the items you would like to remove, press the Fix Checked button, designated by the blue arrow, in Figure 6.
HijackThis will then prompt you to confirm if you would like to remove those items. Press Yes or No depending on your choice.

When you fix these types of entries with HijackThis, HijackThis will attempt to the delete the offending file listed. There are times that the file may be in use even if Internet Explorer is shut down. If the file still exists after you fix it with HijackThis, it is recommended that you reboot into safe mode and delete the offending file.

the THE ARIVA GUARD IS SLOWING ME DOWN.

Ok look I don't use real time protection on superantispyware. Again it just sits there. I uses, 2068k for sascore and suparantispyware uses 864k total. I am using ariva 2012 with no web protection? Second i was looking to see if there was a exception to help speed up the web browsers. I look at every thing written on ariva guard and will live with it if there is no fix. I understand what it does and the slow down is it checking files as i surf the web.deleting those items in the hijack log doesn't fix my problem. But i can do that thanks and again I have no web guard and sas doesn't use real time protection. I've been using it for five years this way. Thanks.

It makes no sense ?(

At least, can you clarify what version (free with/without web protection, Premium, AIS) do you have?

Yes i have ariva free version 12.1.9.1236. Again i do get it, it's not like I don't understand what the web guard is doing. i just hopped to pickup a exception or a something to try and see if it made my web browsing faster. I've used ariva since 2008 and this is the first time I notice the guard slowing down my browsers. I'm fine with it There's not another virus scan this good that would do anything different. Avast killed my internet speed so I'm back.MUCH THANKS. If you come up with something i'll check :P
