Hi abe12345,

There aim is to compromise your online banking and other programs that use passwords etc, but please do not worry Avira did its job and protected your system.

Now to the two logs both are clean, I would keep Malwarebytes and run it once a week as a backup to Avira but remember to update it prior to running.
Secondly I would suggest that you use a more secure browser have a look at Opera, Firefox or Seamonkey.

But as you are running Avira personal I would recommend Opera just click the Opera link in my signature if you choose to have a look.

Thanks Barrie. Opera looks like a great browser, is very fast, and probably very secure. I think I will try it out as my new browser. Thanks again for all the help.

Regards,

Abe

Hi Abe,

You are welcome and just to tell you why I feel Opera would be the better choice for you, it is because you are running Avira Personal that has no WebGuard module, and other browsers like Firefox etc will rename any cached objects and then delete their file extension not very helpful :( as this means that the Avira Personal Guard can not scan them.

But Opera doesn't delete file extensions of cached objects and so your Avira Guard is able to scan these files for malware such as a hidden iFrames that might have malicious intent and warn you. So for any one running Avira Personal I would recommend Opera as it is defiantly a more secure way to surf the internet.

Thanks Barrie. That is a good reason to go with Opera. I've been using it for a a few days now and I am very impressed with the speed of this browser as well. I think it will be my new browser. Thanks again for all your help.
