Disabling ipmgui.exe..

Hello,
every now and then when I start my PC the notify appears asking me wether I need help or not.
It's related to ipmgui.exe, how can I prevent this?
I do not need popus of any kind except those I choose.

Is there a good way to avoid this, because disabling info and other things in the settings configuration did not help

Yes I will do next time it shows up, I had it 2 times.
I'll post it here..

It is just a popup in the right bottom corner, asking me me if I need support from Avira.

Hi bimbobo,

I suppose that you receive it only when you update Avira, am I right?

Hi,

I will stand corrected but from what I see the file ipmgui.exe is only connected to the free Avira product messaging and can be found here
%PROGRAMFILES%\avira\antivir desktop\ipmGui.exe
You may also see it running in Task Manager as the process ipmgui.exe.

I realise you do not get the popups now  but if they reoccur and setting configurations has no effect then maybe just kill ipmgui.exe in TM after boot up.

thanks for answers...

Is there a way to block "notify" after updating.
I have Win7 Premium so I cannot access many "places" in Windows like you can with higher versions.

I tried to block in "security" for the notify.exe, but at every update it's overwritten.

Hi,

If it really is a bother then possibly after any boot check TM for ipmgui.exe and kill. Then test by udateing Avira once done go back into TM and check again.

I have ipmgui.exe Win 7 x64 trying to access the internet approximately every 30 minutes, which is many times per day. It does not appear to do anything useful but it is annoying, so I have blocked it.

Hi bimbobo,

You can't disable this message. Only users of Avira Premium and Internet Security can do it. For me it is enough to click on "x".

I don't think this would be in concordance with the Avira Free usage terms..

@AlfaMS,

I've disabled such posts ^^
I'll also try to clarify the Avira side about this matter.
