XP x64 is, despite of the name, not really XP but a modified version of Windows Server 2003 x64 for desktop use. The current service pack for this is SP2 (the same SP2 exe can be applied to both XP x64 and Win2003 x64, so you see how close this two products are). There is no SP3 for XP x64 and will never be, and SP2 is much newer on x64 than SP2 for XP 32bit and is still supported by Microsoft so no security problem with SP2 until MS support ends for it in 2014, see hereWhat about Windows XP Professional x64?
I'm using Windows XP Professional 64-bit.
There is less security on SP2?

Hi Zephyrwind,
Yes, I will also recommend a good firewall and a second layer of protection to you, but Windows XP SP2 will not protect you against a lot of bugs or system vulnerabilities.
