Fixed: Application blocked since last update

Dear Avira user,

After the product update of the Avira software some applications were blocked through the ProActiv component. Our development is working on an automatic update to solve this issue as fast as possible. At the moment we can offer you 2 different ways to temporarily solve this issue:

Solution A: disable ProActiv

1. open the Avira Control Center
2. press the "F8" button to open the Avira Configuration window
3. enable the Expert Mode in the upper left corner
4. open the following option in the configuration "Realtime Protection -> ProActiv"
5. disable the ProActiv component here
6. close the Avira Configuration window with the "OK" button
7. restart your computer

Solution B: create ProActiv Exceptions

For this solution we still have a knowledgebase article which describes the solution:…etail/kbid/1257

We will inform you after the automatic update was released which fixes the problem permanent. After that update you can enable the ProActiv feature on the same way like we instructed above. Also the exceptions can be removed after that update.

Our development provided an update which resolve the issue directly.

Please follow this steps:

1. open Avira Control Center
2. start the update
3. wait until the update has been finished

The message about blocked applications is now gone. In case that there is still an message please reboot your computer.

Notice: ProActiv was deactivated and removed from the Avira software through the product update yesterday. Warnings about blocked applications are now gone and fixed. Further steps for exceptions or manual deactivation of ProActiv as described before is not necessary anymore.

ProActiv will be activated again over automatic update as soon as this program modul has been confirmed for release.
