The event log database could not be initialized and cannot updat version12

Hi I installed this version multiple times and still have issues. I was able to scan but now suddenly the error notic "event log database could not be initialized" comes up. When trying to update an error message pops up saying the following error occured but no details of the error are displayed. Operating system is Windows 7. Would appreciate any assistance.
