The Period of the Validity of the activation code has already expired

I bought a few Avira license codes some time back (not from Avira, bought from different sources including Amazon). My main computer's antivirus subscription expires tomorrow (Saturday).

Today, I tried to enter one of the license codes to extend my license. To my shock and surprise, I got the following message:

[Error 556]: The Period of the Validity of the activation code has already expired

There is no information on the Avira license card about Avira license codes having an expiration date.

HELP! How do I extend my subscription? Why am I getting an expired message? I don't want a refund, I need to extend my Avira antivirus subscription.

After waiting on hold on the Avira tech support line for 45 minutes ("Avira! Live Free!"), a (very rude) techie tried to sell me more licenses. Would not hear that I recently bought these licenses. And he seemed to have a problem with English.

It's possible that this week my company will choose another antivirus provider corporate-wide, especially since we've already had too many viruses slip past Avira to badly infect machines.

Hi

Avira activation code expires after a period of 24 months
as a gesture of goodwill a new
code can be given ......and mostly is given.

please send your request via email to
info@avira.com under your known customer email address

Thank you so very very much!

I have two expired activation codes left, for two PCs.

One PC's subscription yesterday and the other subscription expires July 1, 2013. So these PCs are my highest priority.

I will include both email addresses and registration information.

Should I include the two expired activation codes in my email?

Thank you again for your outstanding support. We will purchase the rest of our activation codes using normal channels.
