AntiVir Premium v9

1. I just went through the update process and there appears to be a key in the registry used in the right click menu that was not deleted or updated. This is the key.

Source code

1
Unused File Extension	{80b8c23c-16e0-4cd8-bbc3-cecec9a78b79}	HKCR\{80b8c23c-16e0-4cd8-bbc3-cecec9a78b79}

It is use but does not correspond to a correct path. Maybe this will be fixed in next update.

2. I use MailwasherPro to scan my mail before downloading. For my Internet connection we are required to use SMTP port at 465 and POP3 port at 995.
I entered these ports in the configuration for e-mail scanning and now can't download email.

Putting it back at default settings it downloads fine.

Otherwise good job on getting out version 9. When you have the time please take a moment to reply. Respectfully me 8)

I cant seem to get Version 9 to update.

That is because it is SSL of Stunnel and I have the same problem with my email from my ISP.

I am confused as this seems way too complex and should be a lot easier.

I would like an answer from the moderator about the registry question at least when they have time. It appears they overlooked this question. I ran CCleaner before and after the upgrade and that registry key comes back as leading to no-where. Searching the net it appears to belong to AntiVir. Is this registry key needed anymore? Should I stop AntiVir or boot into safe mode and delete it? Should I reinstall the application.? What action should I take?

YoKenny,
Thanks for the efforts. Yes I understand it is a encrypted connection. In the settings under mail ports what are those boxes used for then?

I have been one of the lucky ones so far. The program so far runs as it is supposed to with updates and boot up and scanning so far.

When you have time please respond.

Hi R.B.,
Sorry, this is a registry entry for internal use of AntiVir and we cannot say anything about it.

While I was waiting for your response I downloaded the full install package for AV9 and also in one of your threads recently you had a tool to remove all the registry keys that I downloaded also. I uninstalled the app and ran the AntiVir cleaner for the registry after a reboot. Then used other reg cleaners like jv16 powertools and ccleaner and also searched all my profiles for folders left over ensuring it was off my system as best as possible. Note I did not verify the key was gone from the system at that time before reinstalling. I did reinstall the package and still had the same key show up as leading no-where. I read your post here an booted to safe mode under the main admin account and searched and found the key. I backed it up and then deleted it. Everything appears to be working fine here on my end. If I experience anything I will respond back here. Not sure why I could not delete the key if it was not leading anywhere in standard mode as my permissions showed I had control of it. I did not go into the config and uncheck protect files and registry entries from manipulation. Anyway it is gone and things seem fine. Thanks.
